I’ve just returned from Sotheby’s GNE (Global Networking Event) in Nashville, a fantastic experience where agents from all over the world gather to learn, share best practices, and connect with top talent. Our international referral network truly sets us apart. It was incredible to meet so many people from far-flung places who have friends and family in Toronto. This year’s event brought together 2,500 agents from 39 countries!
One of the highlights was our special guest, Nashville’s own Reese Witherspoon, who shared her journey as a female entrepreneur and the challenges she faced while building her production company, Hello Sunshine. We also learned the power of empathy in negotiations from former San Antonio Police hostage negotiator Troy Smith with Chris Voss’s Black Swan Group. Additionally, best-selling author Sol Rashidi offered her expertise on AI. To cap it all off, we shut down one of Nashville’s main streets for a massive block party and enjoyed a lively night at Jason Aldean’s multi-level bar, where each floor had a different band playing!
It was my first time visiting Music City, and I plan to return. While I’ve gained a new appreciation for country music, Nashville’s blues, bluegrass, rock, and jazz scene was equally impressive. My mom would have loved the Patsy Cline Museum, and though I didn’t get to visit this time, it’s definitely on my list for the next trip.
