Did you know that Canada is the number one source of foreign buyers purchasing in the US? That’s right. In 2021 alone, Canadians purchased $5.5 billion in properties in the US and guess what state was themost popular destination for Canadians? You guessed it! Florida represented 24% of all purchases made by Canadians followed by California 11%, Texas 8%, Arizona 7%, New York 4% and North Carolina 4%. Vacation homes represented 44% of these purchases and Canadians purchased 25% of all foreign purchases in Florida last year. Nationally, the average selling price for all foreign based purchases was $485k USD and 21% of all foreign Sellers were Canadian while 69% of Canadians paid cash (the highest percentage of all foreign Buyers) Wow, these are some stats!
