Can Yorkville Age Gracefully?

From a c1880’s Victorian Village to a Rockin Psychedelic 60’s Mecca to a Decadent “Me-Focused” 80’s Fishbowl, Yorkville has been a unique neighbourhood in Toronto that continues to attract all types of characters. Mesmerizing the city for almost 140 years it continues to change and is sure to interest and excite generations to come.

But can Yorkville maintain it’s quirky architectural vibe as it marries the past with the future in this new land of of swanky glass skyscrapers? Here’s an interesting perspective by the Architourist, the Globe and Mail’s own columnist Dave LeBlanc.

DID YOU KNOW? York Square with it’s big round looking glass windows, hibiscus scented courtyard and cobblestone walkways has particular meaning to me as it’s where I once owned and operated the successful clothing boutique “Bodywear” (formerly of 25 Bellair St.) in the early 90’s
